Play your friends on any phone!

Available for iPhone™, Android™, and Windows Phone™

I receive many emails every day and many of them are very similar questions. Below is a list of some of the most common questions and links to their answers:

I don't remember my password to log in to my account on my new phone.
Do you still have the app installed on your old phone? If so, make sure it is updated to the latest version there and then go into the app settings and look for the "Change Password" button. It will let you set a new password so that you can log in on your new phone.

Windows phone push notifications and live tile move counts are not working.
I have heard from some users that when their phone battery gets low or they put their phone into power-saver mode that it disables push notifications so you might want to check your phone settings for that one. Also, I'm not sure if you have tried this, but you might want to try uninstalling and then reinstalling the app to see if that clears things up. If you do that, be sure to tap the "Already have an account?" link at the bottom of the startup screen to enter your same username and password and maintain all of your games.

Stuck game will not expire, or game shows error and will not sync when I try to submit.
Sounds like you have a game that no longer exists on the server but is somehow stuck on your phone. One way you could get rid of it is to uninstall the app and then reinstall it. When you log back in be sure to click the "Already have an account?" button at the bottom of the login screen and enter your same username and password. It will maintain all of your games and your win/loss record and it should clear up any stuck games.

How does the ranking system work?
The game uses a system called the Elo rating system. Basically, the idea is that if you win your rank goes up and if you lose it goes down. If you beat someone who is ranked higher than you then your rank will go up more than if you win against someone who is ranked lower than you. The amount that you win by does not affect your rank change. What matters is how well ranked your opponent is.

Why don't my wins/losses add up?
Rankings are only affected by games that you play against random opponents. So when you challenge your friends directly it does not have any affect on your rating or your win/loss record. This is necessary in order to make the rankings system work. Otherwise it would be very easy to game the system and artificially inflate your ranking.

Windows phone shows splash screen and then closes. I can't get the game to start!
This bug occurs for users running an old version of Words By Post. I highly recommend that you first upgrade your Phone to Windows 7.5 Mango. This will give you access to the latest version of Words By Post which has a number of important bug fixes. To upgrade your phone, plug it into your computer and then follow the instructions that pop up in Zune. Then, once you have updated your phone, there should be a Words By Post update waiting for you in the app markteplace. When you reinstall the app, be sure to tap the "Already Have An Account?" link at the bottom of the sign up screen to enter your same username and password and maintain all of your games.

I can't find the "submit" button on my Android phone. How do I submit a move?
On small screen Android devices you may only see the board when you first view a board. The trick is to scroll the view up using the d-pad directional buttons on the phone or using the optical scroll wheel at the bottom of your phone. You can also simply drag with your finger to scroll the board up and get access to the submit buttons.

Why does my Android phone keep vibrating?
I have heard for some Android phones users experience excessive vibrations even when they uncheck the vibrations option in settings. I have not been able to reproduce it on my own device so it is very hard to figure out how to fix it. I have heard from some users though that the only way to get it to stop vibrating is to uncheck all of the notification options in the settings. However, this will result in the game not automatically updating your awaiting moves but instead will only update when you open the app. Sorry that I don't have a better solution for you at this time.
